Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 – What time is it? ADVENTURE TIME! Challengers is teaming up with The Hero Initiative to celebrate the release of the ADVENTURE TIME 100 PROJECT. Finn, Jake, and the entire Adventure Time crew take center stage in Hero Initiative's famous"100 Project” format.
Monday, June 4th, 2018 - The next meeting of CHATTINGERS, the Challengers Book Club, is for GWENPOOL VOL. 1!
The hero who could have been you, takes center stage in her own series! Gwen Poole used to be a comic-book reader - until she woke up in a world where the characters she read about seemed to be real! But they can't be, right? This must all be a hoax or an imaginary story or something. And that means...no consequences! With that philosophy, Gwenpool just may be Marvel's least responsible character to date! And getting into the merc business is a good way to start - until it pits her against Thor! Place your bets on the Goddess of Thunder vs. the Oddest of Wonders! And if Gwen somehow survives that encounter, with no skills or training, she'll face the wrath of M.O.D.O.K.! Being in a comic book is not as easy as it looks!
Through June 3rd, we're offering GWENPOOL VOL 1 at 20% off! Then, on June 4th at 7pm, come back to hang out and chat with other fans about it! Snacks and cheap beer will be served.

About Lemonade Summer: "Lemonade Summer by Gabi Mendez is an all-ages graphic novel about queer children, adolescents, teens and young adults coming of age in positive environments and finding supportive communities. The book is 136 pages with full color soft-cover and chapter covers. Each story is a monochromatic color scheme mirroring the sun from noon to dusk, reflecting the characters' growth in the book. The stories feature young, queer characters who grapple with the conflicts of their own worlds."

Monday, June 11th - To some, a slumber party theme could come off as cheesy, but we want to celebrate those nights of vulnerability, bonding, and laughter. Sleepovers were so important to young women growing up; it gave them a sense of freedom and empowerment, but also a safe space to be themselves without interruption. Let’s don our PJs and have ourselves a sleepover, without the whole sleeping over part.
Thursday, June 21st, 2018 - Join Donovan Challenger for an evening of corresponding postally with your favorite comics via letter. Every month, we'll focus on sending mail (real, physical mail) to a specific comic and we're kicking it off with SAGA. Need to talk about your feelings on WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT THING? Or WHY DID THEY DO THE OTHER THING? Or HOW DARE THEY? Or even HEY, I LIKE YOU A LOT! We know you have opinions. Time to share them with the people who are actually responsible. No more excuses! We'll have stationery and stamps, envelopes and everything else you need to take the conversation out of the store and into the mail.
Correspondence Club meets the third Thursday of each month, from 7pm to 9pm.
