What we want, more than anything, is for people to get excited for the books they’re buying, because of the story and the art. We want you to eagerly await the next issue, almost bursting with anticipation. We want you to latch onto a new series as if it’s your new best friend, showing it off to everyone.
It’s real hard to do that in today’s suddenly ridiculous speculation market where every new independent #1 is snatched up as if it was gold from Fort Knox, to be immediately put online as a money-making tool. And when all the #1’s are bought by people not reading them, well, no one bothers buying #2.
What we’re saying is, good luck this week to TIGRESS ISLAND #1, 51 #1, and hell, even COMICS! THE MAGAZINE #1! We hope people actually get to READ you!!
