Monday, February 11, 2019 - Wow, Women's Comics Night is one years old?! Time flies when you're having fun, making friends, and just killin' it on the reg! Can't wait to see what our second year brings!
"Galentine's Day" has transcended the television screen (originally from Parks and Recreation) and become established in everyday culture. On February 13, Galentine's Day, a nonofficial holiday (for now), is celebrated as a day for "ladies celebrating ladies." We may be celebrating a few days early but, like, treat everyday like it's Galentine's Day, that's our motto!
LET THERE BE CAKE! Or whatever you like to eat at a Birthday / Galentine's Day party!
Bring Valentines for your favorite ladies and a shoe box or basket to act as your mailbox so we can spread the love!!
Per usual, this event is BYOB and BYO-SNACKS. However, some snacks and beverages will also be provided. And you're more than welcome to bring any crafts you're currently working on!
Don’t forget you can always join our Facebook Group and hang in the downtime between meetups: https://www.facebook.com/groups/880309332129833

Friday, March 8, 2019 - Lucy Knisley ("Relish", "French Milk", "An Age of License") returns to Challengers for an event 9 months in the making! It's the bedut of her brand new graphic novel KID GLOVES!
"If you work hard enough, if you want it enough, if you're smart and talented and "good enough," you can do anything. Except get pregnant. Her whole life, Lucy Knisley wanted to be a mother. But when it was finally the perfect time, conceiving turned out to be harder than anything she'd ever attempted. Fertility problems were followed by miscarriages, and her eventual successful pregnancy was plagued by health issues, up to a dramatic, near-death experience in labor and delivery. Kid Gloves follows Lucy's personal transition into motherhood, and it also illustrates the history and science of reproductive health from all angles, full of curious facts and inspiring (and notorious) figures in medicine and midwifery."
This event starts at 7:00pm on Friday, March 8th and will be family friendly.
