At the behest of his soon-to-be wife, Adrian Tomine set out to create a wedding favor for their guests that would be funnier and more personal than the typical chocolate bars and picture frames. What started out as a simple illustrated card soon grew into a full-fledged comic book: a collection of short strips chronicling the often absurd process of getting married. A loose, cartoony departure from Tomine's previous work, Scenes From An Impending Marriage is a sweet-natured, laugh-out-loud skewering of the modern marriage process, including hiring a DJ, location scouting, trips to the salon, suit fittings, dance lessons, registering for gifts, and managing familial demands.

To get your order locally, you can choose Local Pickup as an option at checkout. After receiving notification that your order is ready, you can drop by Challengers during our current operating hours (Weekends 11-5, Weekdays 11-6, Wednesday 11-7). Your order will be held for you at the front counter. Just let us know the name on the order, as well as that you ordered through Shopify, and you're good to go!

If you'd prefer to have your order left outside for contactless pickup, we're happy to accommodate. When you're outside the store, call us at 773.278.0155. Stay six feet away from our front door. We'll put your books in a basket outside our front door. Once we're back inside, you can grab your books!
